Taiwan, including Green Island, has a significant mosquito population that can be a nuisance to residents and tourists alike. Mosquitoes are particularly prevalent in the summer months when the hot and humid weather provides ideal breeding conditions for these pesky insects.
In addition to being a nuisance, mosquitoes in Taiwan, Green Island can also pose a health risk as they are known to transmit various diseases. One of the most common mosquito-borne diseases in the region is dengue fever, which is characterized by fever, severe headache, muscle and joint pain, and a rash. In severe cases, dengue fever can be life-threatening.
Other mosquito-borne diseases that have been reported in Taiwan, Green Island include Japanese encephalitis and Zika virus. Japanese encephalitis is a viral infection that can cause inflammation of the brain and often leads to serious complications.
